Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is one of those games I can return to without needing a warm-up. I pick a character, choose a kart setup, enter a track, and within seconds the game reminds me why it has stayed so popular for so long. It is colorful, fast, easy to understand, and surprisingly demanding when the competition gets serious. On the surface, it looks like a cheerful kart racer built for casual fun, but once I started paying attention to drifting, item timing, track layouts, and vehicle balance, I realized how much depth sits under the bright presentation.
