The Pistol Holster is one of the most useful and entertaining upgrades in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, especially if you enjoy carrying extra pistols and firing several shots in quick succession during combat. To improve this upgrade path, you need several crafting materials, and Rabbit Pelt is one of the required resources.
Rabbit Pelt is not difficult to find once you know where to look, but rabbits can be easy to miss if you are rushing through an area. They are small, quick, and usually appear in specific hunting zones, so it helps to visit the right locations and use Eagle Vision before searching around randomly.
To get Rabbit Pelts in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, you need to track rabbits and collect the material after taking them down. Rabbits most commonly appear in Nassau, Kingston, and Corozal. Among these locations, Nassau is usually the best early option because it becomes available near the beginning of the game and is easier to access than the other two areas.
Kingston is located toward the southern part of the map and becomes available later as you progress. Corozal can also provide rabbits, but it is not as convenient early on because the area is guarded by a powerful Spanish Man O’ War that may attack if you approach the docks too soon. Because of this, Nassau is the safest and simplest place to farm Rabbit Pelts early in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
You may also occasionally find rabbits on smaller islands, but the three main locations are more reliable. If you only need enough Rabbit Pelts for the Pistol Holster upgrade, visiting Nassau should usually be enough, since each hunting area often has two rabbits available.
There is also a trading option if you would rather avoid hunting. Rabbit Pelt can be obtained at the General Store by exchanging four animal remains, but this option only becomes available after you build and upgrade the General Store at Great Inagua to General Store II. Once that upgrade is complete, new goods become available across General Stores in the Caribbean.
When you reach a location marked with a rabbit icon, activate Eagle Vision to make nearby animals easier to spot. Animals are highlighted in red, which helps you notice rabbits in grass, bushes, or cluttered areas. Since rabbits move quickly and may flee if you approach carelessly, it is better to crouch and move slowly before getting close.
You can use a sword, but a pistol is usually faster and more dependable because it only takes one accurate shot. After the rabbit is down, approach it and skin it to collect Rabbit Pelt. Each rabbit provides one Rabbit Pelt and may also drop extra animal materials. Since there are usually two rabbits in one hunting zone, you can often gather two Rabbit Pelts from a single area.
Rabbit Pelt is used for the second Pistol Holster upgrade in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. This upgrade allows Edward to carry a third pistol, making ranged combat more flexible and giving you more shots before needing to reload or switch tactics.
To craft the second Pistol Holster upgrade, you need two Rabbit Pelts. If you have not crafted the first Pistol Holster upgrade yet, you will need to gather Ocelot Pelts first. Once the required materials are ready, open the inventory, go to the Crafting menu, and find the Pistol Holster upgrade near the beginning of the available crafting options.
If you rely heavily on pistols, it is also worth upgrading the Pistol Ammo Pouch. Carrying more ammunition works well with extra pistol slots and lets you stay aggressive in combat for longer. Together, the Pistol Holster and Pistol Ammo Pouch upgrades make Edward much more effective when you want to deal with enemies quickly from range.
