Australian GTA Online players can no longer use several gambling-related features inside the Diamond Casino & Resort, according to reports from the community and game data analysis.

The restrictions reportedly prevent users in Australia from playing poker, blackjack, roulette, and other casino activities. The Lucky Wheel and private tables inside player-owned penthouses are also unavailable.

Players can still purchase and sell casino chips and collect the daily allocation of 1,000 free chips. However, those chips can no longer be used for most interactive gambling features.

Community reports were later supported by datamined information showing region-specific restrictions connected to the Australian territory code. Rockstar Games has not provided a detailed public explanation for the change.

The decision is believed to be connected to Australia’s stricter rules surrounding gambling-style mechanics in video games. Similar casino restrictions have already existed in several other regions.

The change has also raised questions about the future of GTA Online. Should GTA VI introduce a new online casino system, Australian players may receive a more limited version if the same regional rules remain in effect.
