Final Fantasy 7 Revelation may still receive a physical release when it launches in early 2027, although Square Enix has not finalized the game’s available editions.
Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that internal discussions are continuing over the exact product lineup. He is actively trying to secure some form of physical edition but cannot guarantee that a disc version will be produced.
The uncertainty comes as more major publishers and platform holders move toward digital distribution. Sony’s reported long-term reduction of physical PlayStation releases has added further concern for players who prefer boxed games.
Hamaguchi acknowledged that downloadable releases are becoming more common across the industry. However, he also emphasized the cultural importance of physical copies, particularly at fan events where players bring games and collectibles for signatures.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is expected to complete the remake trilogy in early 2027. Square Enix has not yet announced the final platforms, editions, pricing, or physical availability.
