Dead Zone Revive, a free fan-made recreation of The Last Stand: Dead Zone, is scheduled to launch on Steam on August 3, 2026. The project has been developed with permission from original creator Con Artist Games.
The game aims to preserve the multiplayer survival experience after the original title closed in 2021. It will remain a non-commercial project and is also planned for release through Epic Games and its own official platform.
Players will build and improve a base, recruit survivors, search for resources, form alliances, and defend their community from large groups of zombies. Its settlement management and scavenging systems may appeal to fans of Fallout, while the darker survival atmosphere is likely to attract players who enjoy The Last of Us.
Dead Zone Revive uses an isometric visual style inspired by older role-playing games and focuses heavily on resource management, cooperation, and protecting recruited survivors.
The game will be completely free and is not expected to include microtransactions. A browser version is already playable, while the Steam release will provide another way to access the revived online experience.
